Changes in Distribution of Lallemand Enological Products in North America

Beginning in 2009, Scott Laboratories will become the sole distributor of the majority of Lallemand enological products in North America. They will carry Enoferm enological yeast, nutrients and bacteria, as well as Lallzyme enzymes. In addition, all of the encapsulated yeast products from Proenol will now be available for purchase through Scott Laboratories (www.scottlaboratories.com).

In other news, Shirley Molinari, formerly of Vinquiry, Inc., has joined Lallemand's North America division to support the Enoferm line of products. She has extensive technical knowledge of the line and will prove to be an asset to winemakers and Lallemand.

JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery Introduces "JUST Chips"

JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery is making strides in their "JUST Go Green" initiative by recycling their used French oak barrels. Evan Baldwin, 16-year-old son of proprietors Deborah and Justin Baldwin, is leading the "JUST Chips" program to create wine-infused grilling chips.

JUST Chips are made from the 100 percent recycled French oak barrels used to age JUSTIN's Isosceles wine. After two to three years of use, the most heavily infused and flavored barrels are split into grilling chips. JUST Chips are available for $14.50 per two-pound bag and may be ordered directly from the website at http://store.justinwine.com. JUSTIN Wine Society members can purchase the grilling chips for $11.60. wbm
